Neo's Xmas present

They gave it to me yesterday. Two gift wrapped boxes. As I entered our apartment, Neo shouted out "Mommy, mommy, may gift ako sayo". I asked what is it. He said it was a barbie doll. I asked why yun ang gift nya. He said "Because you are a princess!".

Val said it was Neo who dictated on what to put on the gift card. From Papap and Neo, I love you!
at may drawing pa ng heart.

The joys of motherhood.

I love you lots and lots, Neo!

Saturday Gimik!

Haist! I feel a little old for this. It has been a while since I went night out with friends. Friends, meaning Bobby, John and Marivic.

Agreed meeting time - 8:00 PM, agreed meeting place - Power Books Glorietta. Me and John arrived early on the meeting place. Bobby appeared about 45 minutes later coming from another Powerbooks branch in Greenbelt. Marivic was stuck in traffic.

While waiting for Marivic, Bobby, John and myself had appetizers at Chili's. Finally, we were complete around a few minutes before 11:00 PM. We decided to go to a comedy bar so off we went to Quezon Avenue at Zircos. Stayed til about 3AM. We arranged to meet again on December 29, 2011.

T' was a fun outing with long time friends!

Our first Christmas tree

Yey! Our very first tree. I spent the whole Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, and Sunday midnight til 2 setting up this tree. I feel it needs a little bit more of highlights (I can take care of that later). I worked this out so that Neo can see it when he wakes up in the morning. Running around the christmas tree is a small train.

So, when he did went down in the morning, we immediately spotted the train, so much so that he didn't paid much attention to the tree and its trimmings. Hay, i felt a little bit disappointed, but it's ok. He said he liked it, when I asked.

I already have two gifts for him to put under pero he might find it a hindrance when he goes playing with his train. Heheh!

We love you Neo! Let this be a symbol of our love and joy that we will share each Christmas time.

Sunday

Saturday

Brought Neo for his follow-up check-up. It's confirmed, his on and off coughing are allergies. X-ray results are cleared. Meds are allerkid for 5 days. Had to buy new bed foams, set of new pillows and a unit of purifiers. Our bedroom is our suspect on where he gets his attacks so wehad to workon cleaning up the room

Spent 7:30 - 10:00 PM with Ritzie at Megamall. I collecting our christmas tree danglers and Ritzie acquiring her kumyoong (?). I also got a new oven toaster.

Sunday

Mama and Papa were over at our house. We had lunch at Comida China de Manila (formerly the Panciteria San Jacinto). After lunch, had a short stop at Tiendesitas for some dessert and dirty icecream.

Val and I went to get groceries and grabbed dinner at Chickboy.

Pulmo pedia

I took Neo to a new doctor at the Medical Citylast Saturday to consult on his never leaving cough. Dra. Maria Liza Asuncion Cruz is a pulmonary pediatrician. She said she didn't anything abnormal in Neo's lungs when she checked on him. But based on the history I gave, Neo may be a bronchial asthma suspect. To be sure, she directed for a X-ray and prescribed nebulizing with asmalin 4 x a day for 5 days and take celestamin 2x a day for 5 days. WE should be back after a week.

I really pray that Neo be healed.

I got Neo's X-ray last Tuesday and it was normal.

Milky and Sunny

We tried this new restaurant in Kapitolyo last night, Milky and Sunny. Thought it was good because we have been seeing it full everynight that we pass by. I ordered tocino which was nothing but fat, so I placed an additional order of spam. Since Val already had dinner, he got himself a plate of blueberry pancakes. Nothing special on the taste but the presentation was nice.

What I found weird was they were placing the glass of water with straw!

Happy Birthday, our Neo!

The day has passed happily. We knew you enjoyed your day. Immediately, when you saw Mommy and Papap enter your classroom this morning, you blurted out Mommy! Mommy! I love you Mommy and Papap! Your eyes glowed when you spotted your birthday cake. You absolutely loved the Cars2 theme this year. You can't get your hands off the poor cake that it was a already a disaster by the time it reached out home. But it's ok.

You had visitors at home, Lolo Papa, Tito Aldo, Tita Shella and Tatat Ruthie. Your birthday handa were dinuguan, sinigang na bangus, fried chicken which we just bought from neighborhood restos. Pasensya na anak di na nakapag prepare si Mommy and Papap. But, we ordered spaghetti and pancit canton for long life. You attacked your cake in the afternoon and smudged icing all over.

Mommy and Papap didn't get you a gift. Its not that you already have a lot or we didn't feel like buying you anything. It is because we feel that no material gift can perfectly symbolize how much Mommy and Papap loves y0u.

Mommy and Papap stayed a little late tonight watching your baby videos. We had fun. You're growing so fast! Happy birthday, anak. We love love you so much.

Papap prepared a video of your birthday celebration in school. It is saved somewhere in Papap's drives. It was also posted in Facebook. Now, here are some of your pictures taken from my camera.

Neo's 4th birthday invitation

He chose it. To have Cars 2 as the theme of his 4th birthday. So, I made above invitation for his celebration in school. I showed it to him first and asked if he liked it. To my surprise, he said it's mali (wrong) because its Cars 1 (daw). Ha?? He explained and demonstrated to me what's wrong. Stickers and fire, whatever!

I cannot distinguish the difference.

Anyway, here is the approved version:

Can you spot the difference?

A Poem of A Child

I think this poem answers my last blog...

Just Playing
When I am building in the block room, please don’t say I’m “just playing”. For you see, I’m learning as I play, about balance and shapes. Who knows, I may be an architect someday.

When I’m getting all dressed up, setting the table, caring for the babies, don’t get the idea I’m “just playing”. For, you see, I’m learning as I play; I may be a mother or a father someday.

When you see me up to my elbows in paint or standing at an easel, or molding and shaping clay, please don’t let me hear you say, “He is just playing”. For, you see, I’m learning as I play. I’m expressing myself and being creative. I may be an artist or an inventor someday.

When you see me sitting in a chair “reading” to an imaginary audience, please don’t laugh and think I’m “just playing”. For, you see, I’m learning as I play. I may be a teacher someday.

When you see me combing the bushes for bugs, or packing my pockets with choice things I find, don’t pass it off as “just play”. For you see, I’m learning as I play. I may be a scientist someday.

When you see me engrossed in a puzzle or some “plaything” at my school, please don’t feel the time is wasted in “play”. For, you see, I’m learning as I play. I’m learning to solve problems and concentrate. I may be in business someday.

When you see me cooking or tasting foods, please don’t think that because I enjoy it, it is “just play”. I’m learning to follow direction and see differences. I may be a cook someday.

When you see me learning to skip, hop, run and move my body, please don’t say I’m “just playing”. For, you see, I’m learning as I play. I’m learning how my body works. I may be a doctor, nurse or athlete someday.

When you ask me what I’ve done at school today, and I say, “I just played”, please don’t misunderstand me. For you see, I’m learning as I play. I’m learning to enjoy and be successful in my work. I’m preparing for tomorrow. Today, I am a child and my work is play.

~author unknown

Play IS how a child her age learns. Get down on the floor and play with her! You will have many opportunities to teach her as you play, and you will be building a good, life-long relationship with her. There will be plenty of time for her to study later...now is not the time!!

2nd quarter review

This incoming week will be Neo's 2nd quarter exam. Still, I don't have any clue on how to handle his review. His disposition is always "tinatamad" and would always say he's tired. Although I know he knows the answers, I wanted him to be interested in studying. He is still small, I know, and there should still be no pressure. But I really wanted to start him this soon.

As for now, let's just wait and see the results!

Schedule for the week:

October 17 - Penmanship
October 18 - Reading Comprehension
October 19 - Reading
October 20 - Math
October 21 - Language

Optimus!

Taken yesterday at Galleria. We went out after my office time to get the little boy his Mack truck.
He was amazed by this mock Optimus that he has to have his picture taken.

Pajama Party

One of Neo's school's line up of activities was having a pajama party in class. It was held last September 23, 2011. I bought Neo a new set of pajamas. He came in class with his Lightning Mcqueen bedroom slippers and a new Lightning Mcqueen pillow.

Here are his class pictures. He seemed to have enjoyed the activity.

MRI Results

I just passed my first anniversary after my craniotomy. I was subjected to an MRI last August 24, 2011 and below are the reading:

Impression: Focal gliosis and hemosiderin deposition, left inferiorfrontal lobe, with NO EVIDENT TUMOR RECURRENCE / RESIDUAL.

On my layman's view, I believe the results are good. But I still have to make a visit to my Neuro just to be sure.

God is good to me!

Neo - sick again

He was absent for three days (Friday, Monday and Tuesday).

Fever started last Thursday and learned about it when Sonia texted as Val and I were on the way home around 9PM. Fever persisted until the whole day of Friday getting a highest temp of 40. plus. Gave him Dolan and Tempra. He was well Saturday and Sunday.

Monday morning, he complained about his hurting feet. He said he can't walk which I believed because he is one kid who cannot stand being out and about on the floor, jumping and running. I got worried and my mind entertained worst scenarios. The whole day he was like that. Either just sitting on the sofa or lying in bed. We brought him to the ER of the Medical City. He was checked and the resident announced that he has "viral myositis". Uhh, new term, never heard before. The dr said it was pain in the muscles brought about by Neo's high fever. He was ordered for CBC. Results were within the normal range so thank goodness!

He cried during the blood extraction but explained why we have to do it. We were discharged right after the reading of results. His prescription was just ibuprofen for any pain.

We will visit Dra, Gomez on Saturday.

Club Astoria

Last Tuesday, I received a call from a person from Club Astoria announcing that we were chosen to be a recipient of a buffet dinner for two at the Astoria Hotel. Val and myself went to claim our free dinner but as it turned out, was actually an invitation to join the hotel's exclusive club. The membership will entitle you to a yearly one week stay at the hotel for 30 years and other hotel accommodation freebies. As good as it sounds, the package was expensive. Their lowest offer was around 140k which we cannot afford right now.

We enjoyed dinner, nonetheless. Plus, they gave us a hotel voucher for two good for 6 months. Hotel locations were, Las Vegas and Orlando, USA, Indonesia, Thailand and Bohol. Far flung choices, I may say.

Saturday - July 30, 2011

Saturday morning. Neo decided that he will have all his trains and auto-bot friends to watch TV with him. The whole group enjoyed the experience. :-)

Same day. Before going out for a weekend short trip, here is our boy in his disguise as a transformer.

Missed blogging

I really need to get back into blogging! I have missed - out documenting, important and happy moments these past months. A lot has transpired and plenty has been left unblogged!

Please, let me have the will again!

7th year anniversary

Today is our 7th anniversary!

Val and I spent the evening after office looking for autobots for Neo. We got him a die cast of Iron hide and a Bumblebee mask. We tried to wake him up when we got home but we didn't get him to open his eyes. Bukas nalang.

Today was still rainy. No school for Neo. Not sure yet if there's going to be classes tomorrow.

Buffet lunch

Had buffet lunch with officemates at Discovery Suites.

North Park and a movie

Val and I went to dinner at North Park, Medical City last night. We both had noodles. Nanking Beef for him and Wanton for me.

We watched a movie "Unknown" starring Leeam Neeson.

Father's Day

Today is father's day and we don't have the father of the house to celebrate the day.

Saturday, June 18, 2011

We visited Neo's pedia again yesterday. His cough would'nt go away. His renewed prescription:

Meptin 5 ml 2 x a day
Montelucast one tablet a day
Zyxal 3.5 ml once day

Haay, I really wish he can get out of this coughing spiels and get better soon.

One thing that also aggravates Neo's condition is that his yaya also has chest findings. Pneumonia or atelectasis was ruled out from her x ray. I had her tested again by a pulmonary doctor and was advised medication for one week. I instructed her to wear mask in the house. If she's not cleared for a week, she has to have further medication. My dilema ===== do I have her stay with us longer.

Also, I wish that Val listens to me and stop his smoking, at least within the house area for the meantime. It is not helping us get rid of the hazards in the house.

Neo's song

Neo's song

Lyrics:

Vee walah ho

Only he understands it.

Dinner, etc

Tuesday night, Val and I had dinner at the Burgis Station. Had Nasi Goreng, pandan chicken and a slice of cheese cake! Fun.

Last night, I met Neo at the National bookstore. He had himself a Thomas boo and a set of Bob the Builder play cards.

Sad part, Neo's cough wouldn't go away. He threw up again last night making it 4 nights in a row. Had to go back to his pedia for a thorough check up. Will have Sonia be checked- up too.
